International Congress

NZAPS-O Opportunities

Each year, NZAPS-O delegates have the opportunity to attend a variety of congresses including the National Australian Pharmacy Student’s Association (NAPSA) Congress, Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium (APPS), and the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) World Congress. APPS, and WC are through IPSF.

What is IPSF

IPSF aims to promote improved public health through provision of information, education, networking and a range of publications and professional initiatives. They work closely with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) to succeed in achieving their goals.

Students promote New Zealand Pharmacy

IPSF also provide opportunities for New Zealand pharmacy students to attend a range of congresses/symposiums where students can promote New Zealand pharmacy along with their own research.

NZAPS-O rights as members of IPSF

In General Assembly at last year’s WC, NZAPS-O were voted in as full members of IPSF which gives us voting rights so we can voice our opinions and influence the decisions on the all the international matters discussed.

National Australian Pharmacy Student’s Association (NAPSA)

NAPSA congress is a newer congress that is available for our students to attend. It allows the students to attend workshops and seminars and learn more about how the pharmacy industry works in Australia.

International opportunities

NZAPS-O allows our members to represent us on an international level by attending these congresses. They get invaluable experience which they can use in their careers.

NZAPS-O receive teachings from congresses and greater access to ideas which we bring back to our students.

Some of these include workshops from congress, participation in the IPSF vampire cup competition, ideas for public health campaigns, and resources for patient counseling events, as well as connections to organise student exchanges.
